Are foam plates safe to use in microwave ovens?
Foam plates are not safe to use in microwave ovens. Foam plates are made of polystyrene, a type of plastic that can melt or warp when exposed to high heat. This can cause the plate to break or release toxic fumes into your food. In addition, foam plates can catch fire if they come into contact with the heating element of the microwave.
For safety reasons, it is important to avoid using foam plates in microwave ovens. Instead, use microwave-safe plates made of glass, ceramic, or plastic that is specifically labeled as microwave-safe.
