How many scrambled eggs for a crowd?
For a medium-sized crowd (8-12 people):
- Ingredients:
- 18 large eggs
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs (such as parsley, chives, or thyme)
Instructions:
1. Beat the eggs: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, salt, and pepper until well combined.
2. Heat the butter: In a large skillet or sauté pan over medium-low heat, melt the butter.
3. Pour in the eggs: Once the butter is melted, pour the egg mixture into the skillet.
4. Scramble the eggs: Using a heatproof spatula, gently stir the eggs, pushing them from the edges of the pan toward the center. As the eggs cook, they will start to form curds. Continue to stir until the eggs are cooked to your desired consistency (soft, medium, or firm).
5. Add the herbs: Once the eggs are cooked, stir in the chopped fresh herbs.
6. Serve immediately: Serve the scrambled eggs while hot.
Note: If you are making scrambled eggs for a larger crowd, you may need to use multiple skillets or sauté pans.
