Why my budgie crack its egg?

Budgies typically lay eggs in a nest, and they don't usually crack their own eggs. If you have found a cracked budgie egg, it's likely due to one of the following reasons:

- Natural causes: Sometimes, eggs can be cracked due to natural factors such as weak shells or improper nesting. If the egg was fertile and the embryo was developing properly, it's possible that the egg cracked as the chick grew and put pressure on the shell.

- Infertility: If the egg was infertile, it may have been thin-shelled or weak, making it more susceptible to cracking. Infertile eggs often appear smaller or lighter in weight compared to fertile eggs.

- External damage: If the nest or the egg was subjected to external force or pressure, it could have caused the egg to crack. This could be due to handling or interference by humans or other animals.

- Nutritional deficiencies: In cases where the female bird is not receiving proper nutrition, she may produce weak-shelled eggs that are prone to cracking. Ensuring that the budgie has a balanced diet that includes calcium and other essential nutrients is crucial for healthy egg production.

If you find a cracked budgie egg, it's important to remove it from the nest to prevent other birds from trying to incubate it. You should also monitor the other eggs in the nest and ensure that the breeding conditions are appropriate and there are no disturbances that could further damage or crack the eggs.
