Classic Baked Beans

This recipe is a classic take on baked beans, perfect for a barbecue or potluck.

Ingredients:

* 1 (15-ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed

* 1 (15-ounce) can pinto beans, drained and rinsed

* 1 (15-ounce) can butter beans, drained and rinsed

* 1 (15-ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed

* 1/2 cup ketchup

* 1/4 cup brown sugar

* 2 tablespoons molasses

* 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

* 1 teaspoon garlic powder

* 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

* 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

* 1/4 cup chopped onion

* 1/4 cup bacon bits (optional)

Equipment:

* 9x13 inch baking dish

* Medium saucepan

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients except the bacon bits.

3. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

5. Pour mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish.

6. Top with bacon bits, if desired.

7. Bake uncovered for 2-3 hours, or until beans are tender and sauce has thickened.
