When was Bagels created?
Bagels originated in Poland in the 14th century. They were initially called "bubliki", which means "ring" in Polish, and given as gifts to wealthy individuals during special occasions such as weddings and religious ceremonies. Over time, bagels became a popular breakfast food and spread throughout Europe and eventually made their way to the United States with Jewish immigrants in the 19th century.
