Will bread get moldy when it is toasted?

Toasting bread does not kill mold spores, so toasted bread can still eventually get moldy. Toasting bread will stop mold from growing on it for a short time by killing any mold that is present on the surface. However, mold spores are very resilient and can survive the heat of toasting. Once the toast has cooled down, these mold spores can start to germinate and grow, eventually causing the toast to become moldy.
