How do you make hamburger helper?
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
- 1 (10 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 (10 ounce) can cream of celery soup
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 (16 ounce) package elbow macaroni, uncooked
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- Shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions:
1.) In a large skillet, over medium heat, brown the ground beef, onion, and green bell pepper until the beef is no longer pink and the vegetables are softened. Drain any excess fat.
2.) Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, cream of celery soup, diced tomatoes (with their juice), elbow macaroni, milk, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the pasta is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
3.) If desired, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top before serving.
