Whats the best way to preserve cabbage soup?
Freezing:
- Let the cabbage soup cool completely.
- Store in airtight, freezer-safe containers for up to 6 months.
Canning:
- Follow the directions for whichever method of water-bath canning or pressure canning you prefer until the soup boils for at least 10 minutes.
Remember to leave an inch or so of headspace in your containers if you are canning or freezing your cabbage soup. When ready to eat canned soup, be sure to inspect the can and look for any signs of spoilage or damage, such as bulging or leaking.
