How do you make tomato paste out of sauce?
Ingredients:
- 4 cups tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
Instructions:
1.) In a large pot or saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium-low heat.
2.) Add the tomato sauce, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and basil.
3.) Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 45 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and reduced by about half.
4.) Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
5.) Transfer the sauce to a food processor or blender and puree until smooth.
6.) Store the tomato paste in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
