This sauce is also great as a dip for breadsticks or in a meatball sandwich.

Things You'll Need

  • 4 cans tomato sauce, salt free
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 large cloves garlic, diced
  • 1 tablespoon each oregano, basil, onion powder and hot pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Pour the tomato sauce into a cooking pot. Toss in the spices, olive oil and garlic. Stir thoroughly.

  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until some of the moisture has evaporated and the sauce has noticeably thickened.

  3. Allow your pizza sauce to cool to room temperature before using or storing it in the refrigerator. It will keep well for 3 to 4 days and will have a better flavor if allowed to sit overnight and give the ingredients time to meld.
