How to Make Spicy Ranch Dressing Sauce
Spicy ranch dressing makes a tasty cold dip for appetizers or a zesty warm sauce served over chicken main dishes. There are many variations on this sauce and you may want to experiment with your own flavor combinations. Add some taco seasoning or lime juice for a Mexican flavor, extra hot sauce or cayenne pepper to heat things up, or Chinese five-spice powder or ginger for an Asian version. Serve this flavorful basic version with your favorite dippers or appetizer sides.
Things You'll Need
- 16 ounces sour cream
- 1 ounce package ranch dressing or dip mix
- 1/2 cup hot pepper sauce or hot buffalo wing sauce
- Medium bowl with lid
- Mixing spoon
Instructions
-
Measure the sour cream, ranch dressing mix and hot sauce into the mixing bowl. Mix the ingredients thoroughly to blend.
-
Cover the bowl tightly and store the sauce mixture in the refrigerator for at least two to three hours or overnight to allow the flavors to blend.
-
Remove the dip from the refrigerator and stir well before serving. Serve with plain or spiced chicken wings, fresh vegetables or chips.
-
Heat the sauce slowly over low heat, stirring constantly, for use as a sauce for chicken or fish main dishes. Cover and store any unused dip or sauce in the refrigerator.
