What food has red colouring in it?

Many foods naturally contain red pigments, but some also use artificial red food coloring. Here are examples of both:

Naturally Red Foods:

* Fruits and Vegetables: Strawberries, raspberries, cherries, cranberries, beets, watermelon, tomatoes, red peppers, red grapes, pomegranates, red onions

* Meats: Beef, lamb, pork (depending on diet and breed)

* Seafood: Some types of salmon, shrimp, lobster

* Other: Red wine, red tea, paprika, cayenne pepper

Foods with Artificial Red Coloring:

* Candy: Skittles, M&Ms, gummy candies

* Baked goods: Cookies, cakes, icing

* Drinks: Fruit punch, Kool-Aid

* Processed meats: Sausage, hot dogs, bacon

* Breakfast cereals: Some brands of breakfast cereals

Important Note: Artificial red food coloring is often derived from insects, so be mindful of potential allergies.

Keep in mind: The presence of red coloring can be caused by natural pigments, added dyes, or a combination of both.
