What did Egyptians call pasta?
Egyptians did not have a word for pasta because they did not invent or eat pasta. Pasta originated in ancient China and was introduced to Italy during the Middle Ages.
It's a common misconception that pasta is of Italian origin. The earliest evidence of pasta dates back to around 2500 BC in China, with Marco Polo famously bringing it back to Italy in the 13th century, but it wasn't until the 18th century that pasta became a staple food in Italy.
