What does the sea star eat?
Sea stars are carnivores! They mostly eat:
* Mollusks: Clams, oysters, mussels, and snails are their favorite. They use their tube feet to pry open the shells and then push their stomachs out to digest the soft body inside.
* Other invertebrates: Sea stars also eat worms, barnacles, and even other sea stars!
* Dead animals: They are also scavengers and will eat dead fish and other marine creatures.
It's interesting to note that sea stars have a very unique way of eating. They don't have teeth, so they use their stomachs to digest their prey outside of their bodies!
