How do you tell the sex of a baby turkey?

It is difficult to visually sex young turkeys since the male and female poults look alike. This method can be used between two to eight weeks of age by lifting the poults gently by the tail. If a penis or phallus is seen extending forward of the vent opening, the poult is a male. This will only show about 91 % accuracy of determining the sex in the turkeys.
