How long does garlic stay fresh when kept in the freezer?
Garlic does not freeze well. While you can freeze garlic, the flavor and texture will change significantly, making it less suitable for fresh use. Frozen garlic is best used in cooked dishes where its flavor can be masked. To maximize the freshness of garlic, it is recommended to store it at room temperature in a cool, dry, and dark place or store whole garlic bulbs unpeeled in a mesh bag in the pantry or in a cool dark cupboard for several weeks. Peeled garlic cloves can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a few days or, for longer storage, in the freezer for up to 6 months.
