Why do biologists prefer the name sea jelly to common of jellyfish?
The name "sea jelly" is rarely used. While many species are gelatinous, there are also comb jellies (Ctenophora) which are not closely related to the true jellyfish which are in the phylum Cnidaria with sea anemones and corals.
