How do you make pepper shrimp?
Classic Pepper Shrimp Recipe
Yields: 4 servings
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
* 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
* 1 tablespoon olive oil
* 1/2 cup chopped onions
* 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
* 1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
* 1/4 cup chopped garlic
* 1/4 cup dry white wine
* 1/4 cup chicken broth
* 1 tablespoon cornstarch
* 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
1. Prep: In a large bowl, combine shrimp, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
2. Saute: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper, and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
3. Garlic and Spice: Add garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute. Add white wine and chicken broth, bring to a simmer.
4. Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of cold water until smooth. Stir into the simmering broth mixture.
5. Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque, about 5-7 minutes.
6. Serve: Stir in parsley, and serve immediately over rice or noodles.
Tips:
* Shrimp Size: For a more flavorful dish, use medium to large shrimp.
* Spice: Adjust the amount of black pepper to your taste.
* Protein: Substitute scallops, chicken, or tofu for the shrimp.
* Flavor: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.
* Sides: Serve with your favorite side dishes like steamed vegetables, salad, or a crusty bread.
