Is there any fish oil in imitation crab meat?
Imitation crab meat, also known as "surimi," does not contain fish oil.
Here's why:
* Imitation crab meat is made from white fish, usually pollock, that has been pulverized and then mixed with other ingredients like starch, flavorings, and sometimes red food coloring.
* Fish oil is extracted from the fatty tissues of fish, not the muscle meat used for surimi.
While surimi does contain some healthy fats, these are primarily from the fish itself, not from added fish oil.
