How are pacific cleaner shrimp born?

Pacific cleaner shrimp reproduce sexually. Mating takes place between a female and a male Pacific cleaner shrimp. The female carries the fertilized eggs attached to her body. The eggs hatch after about 1-2 weeks, and the larvae are released into the water column. The larvae drift with the currents and go through several molts as they grow and develop. After about 2-4 months, the larvae undergo a final molt and settle onto the bottom, where they live as adults.
