What is a snail fork?
A snail fork (also known as a seafood cocktail fork or escargot fork) is a specialized utensil designed for extracting meat from snail shells or extracting shellfish out of shells. It typically has two narrow pointed prongs which curve upwards in opposite directions. The narrowness of the prongs makes it easier to access tight or narrow opening while the upward bending allows better positioning during usage. Snail forks are commonly used in cuisines that traditionally consume dishes containing shellfish like clams, oysters, mussels and especially sea snails
