How many eggs can a lobster have?

A lobster can lay between 5,000 and 100,000 eggs at a time, depending on the species. The eggs are held together in a cluster by a sticky substance and are attached to the underside of the lobster's tail. The eggs hatch into larvae that drift with the ocean currents. Only a small percentage of these larvae will survive to adulthood.
