When were fried shrimp invented?

The first record of fried shrimp is from the Song Dynasty (960-1279) in China. It was during the Southern Song’s reign that a recipe called Xiā Rén Guō Bā ("Crispy Shrimp wrapped in batter") was included in a cookbook.
