Why do food processors fortify animal products?

Animal products are not typically fortified with vitamins or minerals by food processors. Fortification is a process of adding nutrients to food products to increase their nutritional value. It is usually done to foods that are commonly consumed in large amounts and that are considered to be good sources of certain nutrients, such as grains and cereals. Animal products, including meat, milk, and eggs, are already good sources of many essential nutrients, so they are not typically fortified.
