How long do you cook jumbo pasta shells?
The cooking time for jumbo pasta shells depends on the brand and the size of the shells.
General cooking time:
* 10-12 minutes for al dente pasta.
Here's how to check if your shells are cooked:
1. Taste test: Take one shell out of the boiling water and bite into it. It should be tender but still have a slight bite to it.
2. Visual check: The shells should be fully cooked and no longer have a raw center.
Important tips:
* Use plenty of water: Use at least 6 quarts of water for every pound of pasta. This will help prevent the pasta from sticking together.
* Salt the water: Adding salt to the boiling water helps flavor the pasta and speeds up the cooking process.
* Don't overcook: Overcooked pasta will be mushy and will not hold its shape well.
If you're unsure about the cooking time, it's always better to err on the side of undercooking. You can always cook the pasta for a little longer if needed.
Enjoy your delicious jumbo pasta shells!
