Why dou use so much water to boil noodles?
It's important to use enough water when boiling noodles to ensure they cook evenly and don't stick together. The amount of water you need will vary depending on the type of noodles you're cooking and the amount of noodles you're cooking.
General guidelines for boiling noodles:
- For dried pasta: Use about 4 quarts of water for each pound of pasta.
- For fresh pasta: Use about 2 quarts of water for each pound of pasta.
- For Asian noodles: Use enough water to cover the noodles by about 2 inches.
Bring the water to a boil over high heat. Add the noodles and salt the water. Stir the noodles occasionally to prevent them from sticking together. Cook the noodles according to the package directions or until they are tender.
Drain the noodles in a colander and serve.
