What is hamhock made out of?
A ham hock is made from the lower leg of a pig. More specifically, it's the joint between the knee and the ankle and includes the shank bone, some muscle, and a fair amount of fat.
Ham hocks are often used to make soups, stews, and beans. They are also used as an ingredient in some sausages and charcuterie.
