How do you make maccaroni?

Ingredients:

- 1.5 cups (350g) dry macaroni noodles

- 2 cups (473ml) half-and-half or milk

- ¼ cup (57g) butter

- ¼ teaspoon salt

- ⅛ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

- ⅛ cup (14g) grated parmesan cheese

- 2 cups (104g) shredded cheddar cheese

- ¼ cup (48g) panko breadcrumbs

- ¼ cup (56g) melted butter

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (176°C). Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.

Step 2: Add the macaroni noodles to the boiling water and cook until al dente, stirring occasionally. Drain the noodles in a colander and set aside.

Step 3: In a medium saucepan, combine the half-and-half, butter, salt, and pepper. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the butter is melted and the mixture just comes to a simmer.

Step 4: Remove from heat and add the parmesan cheese and cheddar cheese. Stir until the cheeses are melted and combined.

Step 5: Combine the cooked macaroni noodles, cheese sauce, and ¼ cup (48g) panko breadcrumbs in a large bowl. Stir until combined.

Step 6: Pour the macaroni and cheese into a 9x13 inch (23x33 cm) baking dish.

Step 7: In a small bowl, whisk together the ¼ cup (56g) melted butter and remaining ¼ cup (14g) panko breadcrumbs. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the top of the macaroni and cheese.

Step 8: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the macaroni and cheese is hot and bubbly.

Step 9: Serve immediately.
