What is the temperature of a cooked meatball?

You can't determine the temperature of a cooked meatball just by looking at it or knowing it's cooked. Here's why:

* Meatballs can be cooked to different internal temperatures: The ideal internal temperature for a cooked meatball depends on the type of meat and how it's being used.

* Ground beef: 160°F (71°C) is generally recommended for safe consumption.

* Ground chicken or turkey: 165°F (74°C) is generally recommended.

* Meatballs in sauces: Might be cooked at a lower temperature as they will continue to cook in the sauce.

* Temperature varies within the meatball: The center of the meatball will be hotter than the outer edge.

To ensure safe consumption, always use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of your meatballs. Insert the thermometer into the thickest part of the meatball and make sure it reaches the recommended temperature for your meat.
