What do monkfish eat?

Monkfish primarily feed on small fish, including cod, haddock, whiting, and hake. They also consume other smaller marine creatures such as squid and octopus. Monkfish are known to ambush prey by hiding in the sand and waiting for smaller fish to come close before they quickly strike. They use their large mouths and sharp teeth to latch on to their victims.
