What type of glass is used for fish tanks?

Float Glass

- Most commonly used glass for aquariums.

- Manufactured by pouring molten glass onto a bed of molten tin, which makes the glass smooth on one side and rippled on the other side.

Annealed Glass

- Heated and cooled slowly to relieve internal stresses, making the glass stronger and less likely to break.

- Used in aquariums subjected to high pressure or temperature changes.

Tempered Glass

- Strengthened by rapid heating and cooling.

- About four times stronger than annealed glass.

- Used in large aquariums or aquariums that will be exposed to high impact.

- More expensive than annealed glass.

Laminated Glass

- Made by bonding two pieces of glass with a layer of plastic in between.

- Very strong and impact-resistant.

- Used in aquariums that will be subjected to extreme stress, such as in public aquariums.
