How can you tell a betta fish is getting old?

There are a few ways to tell if a betta fish is getting old:

- Color: As a betta fish ages, it may lose some of its vibrant colors, becoming more dull and pale in appearance.

- Fins and Scales: The fins and scales of an older betta fish may become frayed, split or damaged. The fins may also become shorter or less symmetrical.

- Eyes: The eyes of an old betta fish may appear cloudy, sunken or develop a white film over them.

- Behavior: An older betta fish may become less active, swimming less and spending more time resting at the bottom of the tank. It may also lose its appetite or have difficulty finding food.

- Lifespan: The average lifespan of a betta fish is 2-4 years, although some can live for up to 5 years. If your betta fish is approaching this age, it may start to show signs of aging.
