How to Make Crock-Pot Boston Baked Beans (3 Steps)
Anyone who doesn't like baked beans just can't be American. Serves eight as a hearty side dish. Or just have them on toast for dinner.
Things You'll Need
- 1 lb. navy beans
- 2 medium onions - chopped
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 1/3 c. ketchup
- 1/4 lb. diced bacon
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- Groceries

- Saucepans
Instructions

Place beans in a pot with 6 c. water; bring to a boil and then simmer for 30 minutes. Let stand, covered, for 1 1/2 hours, or until softened. Drain.

Place beans, onion, brown sugar, molasses, ketchup, bacon, salt, dry mustard and pepper into a slow cooker. Add 1 c. of water and stir to blend.

Cover pot and cook on low heat for 10 to 12 hours (or high heat for 5 to 6 hours), stirring occasionally.
