Can you cook raw chicken w sauteed onions?
It is not safe to cook raw chicken with sauteed onions. Here's why:
* Food safety: Raw chicken carries bacteria like Salmonella that can cause food poisoning. Sauteing the onions alone does not kill these bacteria.
* Cross-contamination: The onions can absorb bacteria from the raw chicken if they are cooked together before the chicken is fully cooked.
To cook chicken and onions safely:
1. Cook the chicken thoroughly: Always cook chicken to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) to kill harmful bacteria.
2. Cook the onions separately: Saute the onions until softened before adding the cooked chicken.
Important Note: Never use the same utensils or cutting board for raw chicken and other foods without thoroughly washing them in between.
