How to Make Arabic Tea
Arabic tea is strong and healthy with a distinctive flavor that is similar to some of the breakfast teas on the market. Dark in color, it brews quickly and is usually served with lots of sugar but can be great with a splash of milk, cardamom or fresh mint leaves. Learn how to brew the tea for yourself.
Things You'll Need
- Fresh mint or sage (to taste)
- Tea bag or loose black tea
- Small strainer or diffuser (for loose tea)
- Sugar (to taste)
Brew Arabic Tea
-
Boil the desired amount of water, according to the servings of tea. Chop fresh mint or fresh sage.
-
Prepare a teapot or cups. Measure 3 tablespoons of loose tea and add to the strainer. Put fresh mint or sage on top of the tea and rest this over the opening of the teapot or cup, or place diffuser inside the teapot with ingredients inside. Place tea bags into the cups or teapot with mint leaves or sage leaves.
-
Pour boiling water into the teapot or cups over the tea and fresh leaves. Allow the tea bags or diffuser to sit for 5 minutes, or until as dark as desired. Let your teapot brew with the strainer submerged under the water level. Allow tea bags in cups with leaves to sit for 5 minutes. Strain leaves if desired before serving. Add sugar to taste, or add cardamom seeds, honey or lemon while brewing for unique flavors.
