How to Mix Alcohol & Punch in a Watermelon (6 Steps)
What can you do with a watermelon? Or, more to the point, what can't you do? Watermelon, one of the most popular fruits -- and foods -- of the summer, can be made into salads, drinks, desserts and even syrups. In addition to being edible, a watermelon's rind can serve as a bowl for your picnic's adult beverages. Once you fashion the watermelon into a suitable container, you can mix your alcohol and fruit punch to create a truly green punch bowl.
Things You'll Need
- Knife
- Spoon
Instructions
-
Thoroughly wash the watermelon's exterior.
-
Cut a thin and shallow piece of rind off the bottom of the watermelon. This will become the flat surface used to stabilize the watermelon.
-
Place the watermelon on its newly flattened side.
-
Cut off the top part of the watermelon one or two inches from where it starts to curve inward from the middle. This will create a rim to keep the contents from overflowing.
-
Scoop out the watermelon's flesh with a spoon until the white of the rind is exposed all around the inside of the melon.
-
Pour in the alcohol and fruit punch of your choosing into the watermelon when it is time for the event.
