Is a strawberry relly berry?

The common strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa) is not a true berry. In botanical terms, a berry is a fleshy fruit produced from the ovary of a single flower, and its seeds are enclosed within the fruit. Strawberries, however, are considered aggregate fruits. They develop from a single flower with numerous pistils, each of which develops into a separate small fruit called an achene. The red, fleshy part of the strawberry that we eat is actually the receptacle, the swollen tip of the flower stalk to which the achenes are attached.
