How to Make a Star Burst

Mix a batch of Starburst beverage to share with adult friends and family during your next get-together or New Year's Eve party. Although a Starburst drink is designed to taste like the brand-name children's candy, it does contain alcohol and should not be left unattended around children. This juice and alcohol combination is often served as a sipping beverage or in another, more concentrated mixture, when used in shots.

Things You'll Need

  • Tall glass
  • Ice
  • Orange Juice
  • Strawberry Schnapps
  • Swizzle stick
  • Fresh fruit garnish
  • Shaker
  • Shaker strainer
  • Absolut Mandarin
  • Absolut Citron
  • Sweet & sour mix
  • Pineapple juice
  • Cranberry juice
  • Measuring cup with ounces
  • Shot glass

Starburst Drink

  1. Fill a tall beverage class with cubed ice. When using crushed ice, the ice may melt too fast and water down the beverage before it is consumed.

  2. Combine 1/2 cup of orange juice with 1 cup of Strawberry Schnapps in the ice-filled glass. Adjust the amounts to each individual's taste and preference.

  3. Stir until blended with a swizzle stick and garnish the glass with fresh fruit such as strawberries, pineapple or thin-cut orange slices.

Hawaiian Starburst Shots

  1. Add ice to a beverage shaker approximately half-way. Use cubed ice to avoid watering-down the beverage.

  2. Combine 1 ounce each of pineapple juice, cranberry juice and sweet and sour mix into the shaker, over the ice. Pour 1/2 ounce each of Absolut Citron and Absolut Mandarin.

  3. Blend the mixture in a covered shaker. Pour the beverage through a shaker strainer into a shot glass and serve.
