A graduated cylinder is a glassware that can measure volume to the thousandths place. It is a cylindrical container with a spout at the bottom and a scale marked on the side. The scale is usually calibrated in milliliters (mL) and has divisions of 0.1 mL or 1 mL. To measure the volume of a liquid, the graduated cylinder is filled to the desired level and the scale is read at the bottom of the meniscus.
