Where did baruch come from?

The prophet Baruch's life is told in the deuterocanonical Book of Baruch, as well as in the writings of the Church Fathers, including Eusebius and Jerome. The prophet Baruch is said to have been a Levite of Jerusalem. He was a scribe and a close disciple of the prophet Jeremiah, whom he accompanied to Babylon during the 6th century B.C.E. Baruch also wrote down Jeremiah's prophecies, and is traditionally believed to have composed the Book of Baruch. He is credited with a prominent role in the restoration of the Jewish community in Jerusalem following the Babylonian Exile, and is considered a prophet by several Christian traditions.
