Why is blueberry pie filling hoter than the crust?
This is a bit of a trick question! It's all about how we perceive heat.
* The crust is hot, but not as hot as the filling. Both the crust and filling are heated to the same temperature in the oven. However, the filling is more likely to be very hot because it's mostly liquid and holds heat longer.
* Our senses are different. We feel the heat from the crust through our fingers, which are more sensitive to temperature changes. The filling, however, is usually eaten with a spoon, which is less sensitive to temperature.
So, while the blueberry pie filling and crust are both hot, the filling *feels* hotter because of the way we interact with it and how our senses perceive heat.
