Make a pizza without yeast or shortening?
Here's a recipe for making pizza without yeast or shortening:
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Optional toppings: pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, etc.
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. Add the olive oil and water and mix until a dough forms. The dough should be slightly sticky, but not too wet.
4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for a few minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
5. Grease a pizza pan or baking sheet with olive oil.
6. Roll out the dough into a thin circle and place it on the prepared pan.
7. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
8. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
9. Add any desired toppings.
10. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
11. Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
