What is the recipe for Homemade Chocolate Pudding?

Ingredients

- 2 1/2 cups whole milk

- 2 tablespoons cornstarch

- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- 5 ounces semisweet baking chocolate, finely chopped

- 2 large egg yolks

- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. In a large saucepan, bring the milk, cornstarch, and salt to a boil over medium-low heat. Reduce heat to low, and cook for 5 minutes, or until thickened, stirring constantly.

2. Add the chocolate, stirring constantly, until melted. Remove from the heat and let cool slightly.

3. In a medium bowl, whisk the egg yolks and vanilla extract. Gradually whisk the hot milk mixture into the egg yolks, stirring constantly.

4. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the custard has thickened enough to coat the back of a wooden spoon, about 5 minutes. Do not let it boil.

5. Pour the pudding into individual serving dishes or a large serving bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for at least 4 hours before serving.
