How did Cold Stone Creamery get its name?

Cold Stone Creamery did not get its name from the way they make ice cream. The owners of the first store, Susan and Donald Sutherland, were driving back from a trip to the Grand Canyon in 1988. They were trying to come up with a name for their ice-cream shop, and their road trip inspired them to name it Cold Stone Creamery.
