If chocolate is then how can white be chocolate?

Chocolate is a food made from the roasted and ground seeds of the cacao tree. White chocolate is a confection that contains sugar, milk solids, and cocoa butter, but no cocoa solids. So while white chocolate may be similar in color and texture to chocolate, it does not contain the same ingredients and therefore cannot be considered a true chocolate.
