How to Easily Bake S'Mores (4 Steps)
Roasting marshmallows over a roaring campfire, and then enjoying the sticky-sweet confection sandwiched between graham crackers with chocolate is the quintessential outdoor dessert. Although s'mores are traditionally made over an open flame, you can enjoy them at home by roasting the marshmallows in the oven. Get creative with your ingredients and try different types of chocolate, or substitute crisp cookies or flavored crackers for the graham squares. You can even set up a buffet of choices and host a make-your-own s'mores bar for a memorable dessert.
Things You'll Need
- Baking sheet
- Foil or silicone mat
- Crackers
- Marshmallows
- Chocolate squares
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Move the oven rack to the top position.
-
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or a silicone baking mat. Arrange the crackers on top the foil, and then top each crack with one regular-sized marshmallow.
-
Bake the marshmallows for four to five minutes, monitoring them the entire time. Remove the pan from the oven as soon as the marshmallows begin to bubble and the tops become lightly golden.
-
Set a chocolate square and a second cracker on top of each marshmallow immediately after removing the pan from the oven, before the marshmallows can begin to cool. Wait one minute for the chocolate to soften, and then push down on the top cracker so the ingredients mash together. Serve immediately.
