How to Make Snow Cone Flavorings (5 Steps)
People often focus on the process of shaving or crushing the ice for snow cones, while the flavorings fall to the wayside since pre-made flavored syrups are both inexpensive and plentiful. Yet with only a few kitchen tools and supplies, you can make your own flavored syrup for snow cones with a more personal touch. Once you have mastered a single flavor, mix them up for snow cones that will be both wildly colorful and wonderfully tasty.
Things You'll Need
- Saucepan
- Sugar
- 14 or 16 oz. packet of unsweetened drink powder, like punch or lemonade
- Funnel
- Plastic squeeze bottle
Instructions

Fill the saucepan with two parts water and one part sugar, then place the saucepan onto a burner.

Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce the heat, then let it simmer for about 5 to 7 minutes.

Remove the saucepan from the burner, turn the burner off and let the mixture cool.

Stir in the packet of drink powder, such as 14 or 16 oz. packet of children's punch or lemonade mix , then continue stirring until the powder completely dissolves.

Funnel the saucepan's contents into the plastic squeeze bottle, then place the bottle in the refrigerator.
