Do you have a recipe for dog treats that use whole wheat flour?

Peanut Butter and Banana Dog Treats with Whole Wheat Flour

Yield: Approximately 24 treats

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 15-20 minutes

Ingredients:

* 1 cup whole wheat flour

* 1/2 cup rolled oats

* 1/4 cup peanut butter (ensure xylitol-free!)

* 1/2 ripe banana, mashed

* 1/4 cup water

* 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for sweetness)

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, oats, peanut butter, mashed banana, water, and honey (if using).

3. Mix well until a dough forms. If the dough is too dry, add a little more water, one tablespoon at a time.

4. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.

5. Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes, or simply cut the dough into squares or rectangles.

6. Place the treats on the prepared baking sheet.

7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

8. Let the treats cool completely on the baking sheet before serving.

Tips:

* Adjust the sweetness: If your dog is sensitive to sugar, you can omit the honey.

* Experiment with flavors: You can add other ingredients to your dog treats, such as shredded carrots, applesauce, or pumpkin puree.

* Store: Store the treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Important Note:

* Ensure your peanut butter does not contain xylitol, a sugar substitute that is highly toxic to dogs.

* Always consult with your veterinarian before introducing new foods to your dog's diet, especially if your dog has any allergies or health conditions.

Enjoy these delicious and healthy dog treats!
