Can you make meringue cookies with splenda?

Ingredients:

- 3 large egg whites

- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar

- 1/2 cup granulated Splenda

- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

1.) Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).

2.) Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

3.) In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whip attachment, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.

4.) Gradually add the Splenda, one tablespoon at a time, and continue beating until stiff peaks form.

5.) Fold in the vanilla extract.

6.) Drop the mixture by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheet.

7.) Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cookies are dry and crisp.

8.) Let the cookies cool completely on the baking sheet before storing them in an airtight container.
