What is recipe for chocolate chip cookies?

Here is a basic recipe for making classic chocolate chip cookies:

Ingredients:

- 1 cup (2 sticks) of unsalted butter (softened)

- 3/4 cup of granulated sugar

- 3/4 cup of light brown sugar

- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

- 2 large eggs (slightly beaten)

- 2 1/4cups of all-purpose flour

- 1 teaspoon of baking soda

- 1 teaspoon of salt

- 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Prepare a baking sheet by greasing it with a little butter or parchment paper.

3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

4. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.

5.Beat the eggs in a separate bowl and then add them to the butter mixture a little at a time, mixing until fully incorporated.

6. In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Avoid over mixing (just enough to combine all the ingredients) as it can make the cookies tough.

8. Add the chocolate chips and gently fold them into the cookie dough using a spatula. Make sure the chocolate chips are evenly distributed.

9. Using a cookie scoop or a tablespoon, drop heaping spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them an inch apart.

10. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned and the centers are set but still slightly soft.

11. Remove the cookies from the oven and transfer them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
